Via Tireball:

It is a fear of many and for Jeff Keppinger it is one that may have a negative impact on his future income. The 32-year-old infielder fell down the stairs at his home CBS Sports has reported.

In the fall Keppinger broke his right fibula; the fibula is a bone in the calf of the leg.

Keppinger is hoping to be ready to resume baseball activities in January after suffering what has been termed a small break. The eight year veteran is at home recovering.

Last season Keppinger hit .325/.367/.439 with nine homers and 40 RBI in 2012 for the Rays.

Rays Extend Evan Longoria, Again

Until he was dethroned by Mike Trout this summer, Evan Longoria had been a fixture atop my annual Trade Value series. It was partially due to the fact that he was both young and an excellent player, but, primarily, he ruled the list because his contract was so absurdly slanted in the Rays favor. Despite already racking up +29 WAR in his first four years in the Majors, Longoria...

Most highly-coveted free agents will wait until the Winter Meetings (held in early December) to begin seriously considering their options.
