David Aardsma nearly lost the game for the New York Mets on Friday night. The reliever entered the game in the 9th inning with a 2-1 lead and allowed the Kansas City Royals to tie it up, resulting in a blown save. Fortunately, the Mets won anyway on a walk-off homer from Eric Young Jr. in the 11th. But it didn’t solve all of Aardsma’s problems.

When Aardsma returned home after the game, he found that the bed had been removed from his bedroom in his apartment. Or, so he says.

Aardsma then went on to crack a couple of jokes about his bed going missing.

I’m not really sure what the hell is going on here, to be honest. Would someone break into Aardsma’s apartment just to steal his bed and call it a day? My guess is he knows what happened to it, but he saw it as an opportunity to screw with people. If he wanted us to be puzzled, mission accomplished.

And if someone really did steal Aardsma’s bed, maybe that will teach him to not mock other pitchers who blow saves.

Mets Farm System Is Kicking Ass And Taking Names

Wilmer Flores has Las Vegas sitting at the top of the division… So much of the New York Met sales pitch over the last several years has been a message of hope. Baxter Heading To New York, Will Replace Wright If He Lands On DL

Mets have announced that Mike Baxter is en route to New York and will likely be activated if Wright is placed on the disabled list after his MRI tomorrow. This leaves Justin Turner and Josh Satin as the only options at third base with Daniel Murphy remaining at second base. I would have bet anything that Wilmer Flores would get the call, but what do I know… Original Post Terry...

Young, Mets snap Royals' win streak

Eric Young Jr. gave the New York Mets' lineup a needed jolt from the leadoff spot when he came over from Colorado in June. For the first time since arriving, he provided a bit of power at the perfect time. Young hit a game-ending, two-run homer with two outs in the 11th inning, and the Mets snapped the Kansas City Royals' nine-game winning streak 4-2 on Friday night. It...

Mets missing injured relievers

The Mets are missing two key cogs in their bullpen, closer Bobby Parnell and setup man Josh Edgin, who are both out as New York opens a series against the Kansas City Royals. Parnell wasn't available for Friday night's opener, and his status for the weekend is unknown as he deals with a stiff neck. ''Bobby has seen the doctor,'' Mets manager Terry Collins...

Cecchini’s Four-Hit Game Last Night Not A Moment Too Soon

The very young Gavin Cecchini runs into a lot of criticism from fans because of the fact that he was drafted so high for the New York Mets — and perhaps rightfully so. It is unfortunate, however, that one so young faces such pressure to perform — although this could be said about a lot of our young prospects that we drafted out of high school. Cecchini had been struggling with...

Puello’s Biogenesis Fate To Be Decided Any Day

Jon Heyman provided his opinion and interpretation on the latest happenings with Biogenesis, and Mets outfield prospect, Cesar Puello, is included. Obviously, this article is mostly focused on Alex Rodriguez because he’s likely going to get the biggest suspension, but here’s what Heyman said in his latest article: The nine or so Biogenesis-linked players who may take deals...

A Closer Look At Noah Syndergaard’s Dominance

Noah Syndergaard has steamrolled through the minor leagues. His worst ERA at any level of the minors is a still-impressive 3.11 in 12 starts with St. Lucie. He doesn’t walk many batters and he strikes out more than one per inning. The excitement surrounding the enormous 6’6, 240 pound right-hander has grown since being traded to the Mets in December, and now he’s getting national...

Mets Minor League Development Philosophy Being Displayed in the Standings

Blood On Your Lineup Card

Never let Terry Collins go to Atlantic City. Here's why: Because he's the type of guy that will put all of his chips on 31 black, win, and then put all of his winnings back on 31 black for the next roll and lose everything. (Forgive me if I referenced that episode of South Park before.) Of course, I'm referring to Terry "One Batter Too Late" Collins, who...

Shoemaker’s wife Danielle sent out the “butthole” message shortly after her husband gave up...
