The game between the Baltimore Orioles and Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim on Thursday at Angel Stadium of Anaheim was briefly delayed due to an alarming number of bees swarming about the ballpark. Order was restored when a grounds crew member dressed up as Winnie the Pooh made off with the bees’ hive and ran off into a nearby forest clearing. No, actually, the grounds crew was involved, but they simply removed the swarm, presumably via some kind of bee-controlling device that sends some kind of signal to their bee brains instructing the insects to vamoose or the Queen gets it. Or maybe they just swooshed them away with a really big broom. The report from SI doesn’t indicate exactly how it was accomplished. Certainly not the first time bees have interfered with sporting event. In May of 2012, a game between the Arizona Diamondbacks and Colorado Rockies at Coors Field was delayed by bees, as was a Brazilian soccer game in 2011. Definitely not the “bee’s knees,” if you catch my drift. I’m guessing that you do. Via MLB.com: That’s some frightening stuff right there. And since bees were involved, I have no choice but to leave you readers with the following video:  Or for a dose of whimsy, how about this one: Yeah, that’s funny. Dick Vitale will not call Duke-UNC rematch either

Twitter/Vitale Longtime ESPN college basketball analyst Dick Vitale was left off of the UNC vs. Duke call a few weeks back for the first time since 1979.
