The game between the Baltimore Orioles and Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim on Thursday at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, Calif. was briefly delayed due to an alarming number of bees swarming about the ballpark.

Order was restored when a grounds crew member dressed up as Winnie the Pooh made off with the bees’ hive and ran off into a nearby forest clearing.

No, actually, the grounds crew was involved, but they simply removed the swarm, presumably via some kind of bee-controlling device that sends some kind of signal to their bee brains instructing the insects to vamoose or the queen bee gets it. Or maybe they just swooshed them away with a really big broom. The report from SI doesn’t indicate exactly how it was accomplished.

This is certainly not the first time bees have interfered with sporting event. In May of 2012, a game between the Arizona Diamondbacks and Colorado Rockies at Coors Field was delayed by bees, as was a Brazilian soccer game in 2011.

Definitely not the “bees' knees,” if you catch my drift. I’m guessing that you do.

An Open Letter to Arte Moreno on the Issue of Buttercup

By Jessica Grey, AngelsWin.com Staff Writer -  Dear Arte, I’m sure by now you’ve realized that many of the Angels faithful have a problem with the playing of Build Me Up, Buttercup by The Foundations during the seventh inning.  And by “problem” I mean the absolute hatred and revulsion that most hardcore Angels fans feel toward this song. And it’s really a pity...

The Angels bullpen is a disaster

There is a lot wrong with the LA Angels. Instead of being the World Series contender many thought they would be, the Halos have struggled to a 10-17 record and are already on the verge of having to declare 2013 a lost season. The problem that gets the most attention is Josh Hamilton. While he is having a miserable season, he attracts the attention simply based on brand name recognition...

The Los Angeles Angels don't seem to be having any more luck than the Dodgers when it comes to pitcher health this season. Reliever Scott Downs was forced to leave the Angels' 5-4 win over the Athletics on Wednesday night with a rib injury, which could mean the Angels will have used nineteen - yes, nineteen - pitchers this season by the end of Thursday's game against...

Manny Machado Isn’t Bad for 20 Years Old Either

Contrary to popular belief there are two 20 year old studs playing in the DMV. I will start this article off by saying this is not a compare and contrast between Manny Machado and Bryce Harper. Harper is a stone cold stud and what he is doing to live up to expectations none of us know anything about is pretty incredible. Harper is the best player on his team at 20 years old. That...

MLB's Best Team on Paper

Are Albert Pujols and the Angels the "best team on paper"? (Credit) Fans are continuously told that what a team has on paper means nothing once it takes the field. There is too much luck and uncontrollable forces for a team to be named “king” based solely on how it looks on a lineup card. Although that may be true, what is to stop us from having some fun and determining...
