We’re about at the All Star break and, as we usually do, it’s time to hand out some hardware for the first half of the MLB season. It’s been a roller coaster of a first half to say the least, and you can believe that our picks are going to be different from the East Coast homers that work at the mothership in Bristol. AL: Jose Bautista. ESPN is going to tell you that Adrian Gonzalez is the first half MVP because the Red Sox are as good as ESPN hoped they would be. Then there are the lowly Blue Jays, the proverbial fourth place finishers of the AL East. How quickly we forget about players on teams that aren’t winning their divisions. Jose Bautista is having a freakish year. He leads the American League in WAR(and its not close), on-base percentage, slugging, RBI’s, home runs….should I keep going?
