Dunn and Dunner:
3:49 PM: SI.com says the deal is 2/20 million
Washington Post:
Thats 3 more former Reds joining the Nationals this off-season(Dunn, Patterson, Valentin). So just if you are keeping count that makes 537 former Reds collecting paychecks from the Nationals.
I never really liked Adam Dunn mainly because the dude just doesn't put the ball in play enough for me. People always talked about the homers, but the OBP was always the most valuable thing to me about Dunn. He is a piece to a puzzle but has always been paid to be 'the guy'. That's not totally his fault either though. I just always viewed him as a 2 hole hitter with power instead of a middle of the order guy.
I don't really know why the Nationals signed him (besides that he's a former Red) when they have Austin Kearns, Elijah Dukes, Lastings Milledge, Willy Mo Pena, and Josh Willingham. 2 of which (Willingham, Dukes) are likely to be better than or equal to Dunn anyways if given the playing time.

Washington Post:
The Washington Nationals have agreed to a preliminary deal with free agent Adam Dunn, a signing that would fulfill their offseason-long search for a left-handed power hitter. Two independent sources have told the Post that Dunn will sign a two-year deal, possibly announced as early as tomorrow.
