The Washington Nationals announced that they have signed left handed reliever Mike Gonzalez to a minor league deal. Gonzalez passed on numerous offers this offseason including a non-roster invite from the Rangers. Gonzalez was recovering from a torn meniscus in his left knee late last season with his knee completely giving out in game 7 of the World Series. The signing makes sense for the Nationals who need bullpen help as they recently lost Brad Lidge to the DL and already had Drew Storen on it. In 2011 for the Orioles and Rangers, Gonzalez posted a 4.39 ERA, 8.6 K/9, 3.5 BB/9, 1.18 HR/9. Image taken by Keith Allison and used under the Creative Common License Agreement.

With every swing of his mighty bat, Texas Rangers slugger Josh Hamilton appears to gain more leverage in his final year of his contract with the club. Nights on Tuesday night don't hurt the cause either. Hamilton's record-setting performance in Baltimore included four home runs and a new American League-record for total bases in a game with 18. Hamilton plenty thankful for his 4 HR-game

Josh Hamilton expects it will take some time before he realizes the significance of becoming the 16th player in baseball history to hit four home runs in a game. He does, however, appreciate how fortunate he was to be playing baseball at Camden Yards on Tuesday night as a member of the Texas Rangers. Because, before his epic performance against the Baltimore Orioles, Hamilton had...

That’s exactly what Texas Rangers outfielder Josh Hamilton is able to see when he looks at the stat leaders. Hamilton put up one of the best nights of hitting in the past decade, where he went 5-5, hitting 4 HR’s and driving in...

Jayson Werth: Here is one Phillies fan who wished you didn’t break wrist

Jayson Werth said that Phillies’ fans yelled and booed him as he got carted off the field last week after breaking his wrist against the Phillies last week. “After walking off the field feeling nauseous knowing my wrist was broke and hearing Philly fans yelling ‘You deserve it,’ and, ‘That’s what you get,’ I am motivated to get back quickly and see to it personally...

Josh Hamilton Setting Impossibly High Bar for Red Sox to Measure Up With (Video)

Josh Hamilton made history on Tuesday night, which was pretty awesome. What hasn't been as awesome is the recent string of results for the Red Sox, losers in six of their last seven games. Hopefully, Jon Lester can help turn things around for the Sox on Wednesday against Kansas City, but it would be even better if the Sox could make some history of their own on top of that. NESN...

Finding offense (in the rain)

The Nationals lead all of baseball with just 82 runs allowed. The Pirates are last in baseball with just 78 runs scored. Obviously, a three-game series with the Nationals looks like it may pose some serious concerns for the Pirates. Then again, the Pirates had a veritable offensive explosion against the Cardinals a week ago (16 runs in three games is kind of an explosion!), and the...
