Ichiro Suzuki Involved in 3 Car Accident; SUV Totaled
The New York Yankees haven’t had a whole lot of luck in recent months. Alex Rodriguez is out for the foreseeable future with a hip injury not to mention having his name involved in new steroids allegations, they failed to improve the team during the off-season, and their leading home run hitter Curtis Granderson suffered a broken arm in a spring training game, so you could say...
Having Come A Long Way, Heathcott On Right Path
Last week, the YES Network aired an interview with Yankees outfield prospect Slade Heathcott. Coming from that interview was the feeling by some Heathcott could possibly replace the injured Curtis Granderson in New York to start the season.
Naturally, with Granderson going down, speculation in all types of media would center on a prospect like Heathcott, who, someday, will likely...

Cano's dad: Son will be Yankee for life
Robinson Cano's father says he expects the New York Yankees to re-sign their All-Star second baseman rather than let him leave through free agency after the season.
Jose Cano says he hopes Robinson will spend his entire career in New York. Jose thinks his son will get a six- or seven-year contract.
The 29-year-old Cano can become a free agent for the first time in his career...
This is my nightmare: New York Yankees
In the This Is My Nightmare series, we'll take a look at what the absolute worst case scenario for each team would be in 2013. Think of it as the negative complement to our You May Say I'm A Dreamer series that we'll be running during our preview series.
It's funny...a nightmare for the Yankees is pretty much a dream for every other fanbase across the league....
Yanks' Cashman to parachute with Golden Knights
Brian Cashman's "significant offer" to Robinson Cano may be the biggest leap of faith he has taken over the past few weeks.
At least until the jump he takes Monday morning.
The New York Yankees general manager will parachute over Miami early that day with the Golden Knights of the U.S. Army to raise awareness for the Wounded Warrior Project.
"It's an opportunity...

In exactly one month, the Yankees will be opening up the season against the Boston Red Sox in the Bronx. But for now, more Spring Training baseball as today, the Yanks (1-6) will take on the Phillies (2-3-1) at George M. Steinbrenner field in Tampa.
In a good pitching matchup, Hiroki Kuroda gets his first start of the spring against the Phils’ Roy Halladay. Kevin Youkilis is...

Chip Somodevilla/Getty Images
New York Yankees slugger Alex Rodriguez has always been seen in the negative light, and these latest findings may not be doing him any good. The Boston Globe ran a study on athlete charities didn’t really live up to it’s name as a “nonprofit organization.”
As the Globe has reported, Rodriguez gave roughly only one-percent of the money he...
Japan set to defend WBC title with young team
Japan will look to replace the likes of Ichiro Suzuki and Yu Darvish with a new generation of young talent as it bids to capture a third straight World Baseball Classic title.
Suzuki, a key player when Japan won the tournament in 2006 and 2009, opted to sit out the third edition of baseball's global tournament. Shortly after Suzuki announced his decision, Darvish, Norichika...

AL BEast Notebook – March 1
There’s an old cliché that says “being there is half the battle.” In sports it’s more. There is no greater determinant of success than health, especially in baseball. And not just being healthy enough to, well, play, but healthy enough to play well. It’s ‘a game of inches’ where even slight adjustments can create problems hitting or pitching...
