New Sox logo, say what!?

So I heard about this literally two days ago in the rumor mill about the Red Sox unveiling a new logo and a third team jersey. At first I ignored the proposperous rumors, but today while I was watching Globe 10.0 on NESN at the bottom of the screen where the NESN Edge bar is, there is came scrolling from right to left "The Boston Red Sox will unveil a new logo tomorrow at 6 p.m. and will be in NESN.com..." something like that anyways. Well, the first question is, "why?" Second is, "are you kidding me?" And third, "let me guess, you're going to somehow combine the 'B' and the 'Sox' logos together, which would probably be the dumbest combination ever." Well wait a second here...I actually bought a Red Sox hat about four years years ago (shown above), made by Nike and they took the 'S' in Sox and the red socks and combined it. Could that possibly be it? I hope not. It's cool for a fan hat, but as a new team logo, I'm not so sure, but that's my opinion anyway. Why even change it in the first place? They aren't reinventing themselves like the Tampa Bay Rays!? Guess we'll all find out at 6 p.m. tomorrow on NESN.com.
