The New York Yankees have traded top prospect Jesus Montero and right-handed pitcher Hector Noesi to the Seattle Mariners in exchange for phenom pitcher Michael Pineda and righty Jose Campos, a source told ESPN.com’s Jayson Stark. The Yankees receive the 22-year-old Pineda after he went 9-10 with a 3.74 ERA for the Mariners as a rookie last year.
Right now Seattle fans are trying to convince themselves this was a good deal, while Yankees fan do the same thing. The fact of the matter is; we won’t know for 10 years. Right now, the Mariners have a “safer” bet in Montero. However, the Yankees have a high risk/reward in Michael Pineda. Remember, there’s nothing like pitching in the AL East.
I think both teams benefit from this deal. Rarely do you find a deal where you really can’t say a side benefited. Both teams filled a need. For all the celebration regarding the deal, Pineda isn’t a perfect pitcher and...
#10 Jesus Montero
Previous Rank: 7
As the centerpiece of the deal that sent Michael Pineda, a power arm in his early 20s that has already been named to an All-Star team, Montero obviously has earned himself quite a reputation already. This trade is further evidence of the reevaluation that is taking place with regards to the relative...
I will be talking about the big Yankees acquisitions tonight at 8pm, but I would like to get the pulse of the fans.
You know that I support Brian Cashman trading Jesus Montero and Hector Noesi for Michael Pineda and Jose Campos- do you?

With the New York Yankees trading for Michael Pineda there’s no chance for Bartolo Colon to rejoin the team. So what are his possibilities now? There’s got to be a couple teams interested in giving the 38-year old a chance right? Well there is.
@Buster_ESPN: Oakland Athletics are in negotiations with Bartolo Colon.
@jaysonst: The #Diamondbacks, who still have an opening for...
