The New York Yankees have traded top prospect Jesus Montero and right-handed pitcher Hector Noesi to the Seattle Mariners in exchange for phenom pitcher Michael Pineda and righty Jose Campos, a source told’s Jayson Stark. The Yankees receive the 22-year-old Pineda after he went 9-10 with a 3.74 ERA for the Mariners as a rookie last year. Right now Seattle fans are trying to convince themselves this was a good deal, while Yankees fan do the same thing. The fact of the matter is; we won’t know for 10 years. Right now, the Mariners have a “safer” bet in Montero. However, the Yankees have a high risk/reward in Michael Pineda. Remember, there’s nothing like pitching in the AL East. I think both teams benefit from this deal. Rarely do you find a deal where you really can’t say a side benefited. Both teams filled a need. Neither player is really “proven” so both teams assumed the risk. Like I said, I think you’re going to get 25/100 consistently from Montero. I’m not exactly sure...

Pitching depth allowed Mariners to deal Pineda

When word got out Friday that the Mariners were in the process of trading young pitching standout Michael Pineda to the Yankees for highly regarded catcher Jesus Montero, immediate reaction from many was, "How could Seattle give up such a promising arm?"

For all the celebration regarding the deal, Pineda isn’t a perfect pitcher and...

I will be talking about the big Yankees acquisitions tonight at 8pm, but I would like to get the pulse of the fans. You know that I support Brian Cashman trading Jesus Montero and Hector Noesi for Michael Pineda and Jose Campos- do you? Tell us what you think and vote below Take Our Poll

Market For Bartolo Colon

With the New York Yankees trading for Michael Pineda there’s no chance for Bartolo Colon to rejoin the team. So what are his possibilities now? There’s got to be a couple teams interested in giving the 38-year old a chance right? Well there is. @Buster_ESPN: Oakland Athletics are in negotiations with Bartolo Colon. @jaysonst: The #Diamondbacks, who still have an opening for...
