Lady Loves Pinstripes:
I hate to admit this, but 2013 Opening Day at Yankee Stadium was awful.
“YANKEES FANS CATCH EARLY TRAIN HOME FROM TODAY’S OPENER” – BustedCoverage.com
Forget the 8-2 loss to the Red Sox, and that the Yankees could not muster up a hit after the fifth inning.
The only smart thing I did yesterday was exit the game early with the rest of the Stadium because honestly no one could watch any longer.
The Yankees were clearly outmatched by Boston, but the lack inspiration was what got to me and talking to my Mets fan friends didn’t help either.
Here are the three things that got to me:
1) Dónde estaba el Capitán?
(translation: Where was the Captain?)
Even my mother knows that Derek Jeter’s surgically repaired ankle is not healed yet, but he should have showed up at Opening Day.
Jeter is rehabbing down in Tampa, as I presume Phil Hughes and Curtis Granderson are too but Mark Teixeira and Alex Rodriguez are hurt and they came.
Red Sox veteran David Ortiz was there, and he is on the DL, but th...

HIP TO IT
Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez told reporters that while he is still in "Stage 1" of his recovery from hip surgery, he is "devoting 100 percent" of his time to rehab.

And I find it A great challenge To prove All you guys wrong And everyone wrong.(Chorus) I’m not going To further discuss this...Everything will be good...Pretty crazy. The big question, now that second baseman Robinson Cano has hired CAA and Jay-Z’s Roc Nation Sports as his new agents, is whether the switch means that the New York Yankees stand a better chance of signing him.
Brodie Van Wagenen, who will be Cano’s primary baseball agent for CAA, didn’t answer that question directly in an interview with FOXSports.com on Tuesday night...
If the Yankees can resign Robinson Cano befire he hits freeagency they can thank Jayz for that. Jayz and Jay-Z’s new Roc Nation Sports arm and its partner, the powerful Creative Artists Agency will be representing Robinson Cano which bodes well for the Yankees. The chances of resigning him are much greater now than if he stayed with Super Agent Scoot Boras which we all knows what...
Robinson Cano is switching agents from Scott Boras to a new company formed by musician Jay-Z's Roc Nation and CAA Sports.
Cano will be represented in baseball matters by CAA Sports' Brodie Van Wagenen. The New York Yankees second baseman is making $15 million this season and can become a free agent at the end of the World Series.
While the Yankees usually wait for contracts...
New York Yankees second baseman Robinson Cano is changing agents as he nears the biggest decision of his career.
Cano, who can become a free agent at the end of the season, is hiring Creative Artists Agency to replace Scott Boras, according to major league sources.
CAA's baseball clients San Francisco Giants catcher Buster Posey and right-hander Matt Cain, Milwaukee Brewers...
You may have lost Hanley Ramirez, Brett Lawrie, or Derek Jeter for the start of the season. And, if you’re anything like me, you neglected to draft a back-up for that position. If you’re in that unenviable spot, check your waiver wire for guys like Alcides Escobar, Jean Segura, and Kevin Youkilis. If they don’t tickle your fancy, there’s a healthy player on the New York...
And the winner is Hov………again
Jay-Z has always said he isn’t a “businessman”, he’s a BUSINESS man. He is proven that by turning the skill of rapping, into a half a billion enterprise.
According to ESPN’s Darren Rovell, Jay-Z has partnered with CAA (Creative Artists Agency) one of the most powerful agency in the world, so don’t expect another Master P situation....
Opening Day’s Red Sox-Yankees battle has had a little bit of everything for everyone through the early innings. Whether you’re looking for the new storylines to emerge from the game or hoping to see the same familiar stuff you’re accustomed to, well, you’re in luck thus far.
Kevin Youkilis in pinstripes? Check. Jackie Bradley, Jr. making himself at home? Yup, that too.
Late last week the New York Mets announced that former New York and Boston skipper Bobby Valentine would be doing some pre- and postgame analysis for cable channel SNY this season. However, that isn’t stopping Valentine from talking about his former market.
In an interview with the New York Post, Valentine appears to be following Carl Crawford‘s lead of blaming his struggles...
Derek Jeter. Alex Rodriguez. Curtis Granderson. … Lyle Overbay?
These are not your grandfather’s Yankees of Lou Gehrig and Babe Ruth. In fact, these aren’t even your older brother’s Yankees, with the first three names on that list sitting on the disabled list in New York. This version is not at all what we’ve come to expect from the Bronx Bombers.
NESN Nation’s Dan Duquette...
