Even though the World Series only ended a couple of weeks ago, it almost feels like the baseball season has just started.  For many baseball fans, the season doesn’t start in late March/early April.  It starts in early-mid November when the stove gets hot.  Free agent signings, trades, rumors, speculation…it all makes for an exciting few months.  Unsurprisingly, the New York Yankees usually find themselves in the middle of a new trade rumor on a daily basis – or at least it seems so.  Nothing is new in 2011 as every stay-at-home G.M. (that includes me I suppose) is throwing out trade targets and trade packages that, without fail, land a legit stud in a New York Yankees uniform in exchange for some mediocre players.  I’m just poking some fun at my New York Yankees faithful.  Its only natural for fans to put together trade proposals for our favorite players or vehemently shoot down the proposals for the players that we don’t like.  Many fans have been doi...

Just Another Day at the Pool With Alex Rodriguez and Muscular Chicks (Pictures)

Two days ago we showed you Alex Rodriguez with Ella Magers who is suppose to be his new girl. Yesterday these pictures were taken at his Miami home where some meat head chick was doing cartwheels for him all day. Apparently if you go to the pool with A-Rod you have to have an eight pack and be able to squat a car. Here are more pics of the little pool party. ...

Read: Dale Sveum’s Yankees Connection

Most Yankees fans don’t remember Dale Sveum. Heck, I barely remember him and I must have watched somewhere around 90 percent of the Yankee games the year he donned the Pinstripes. He did play for them though, on that amazing 1998 squad, he played in just 30 games at first and third base posting a terrible .358 OPS. His playing time was sporatic, most of the time you could...

Via Chad Jennings:The Yankees made their moves to protect young players from the Rule 5 draft, and they included their high-upside, injury-marred second baseman. This afternoon, the team added RHP David Phelps, RHP D.J. Mitchell, OF Zoilo Almonte, INF Corban Joseph and INF David Adams to the 40-man roster. All five would have been eligible for the Rule 5 had they not been protected...

Yankees Trade Rumors: 10 Starting Pitchers Expected to be Available

The Yankees have been talking to just about every free agent starting pitcher, but interested in almost none of them it seems. So I thought it was a good time to take a look at the top 10 pitchers that are rumored to be on the trading block. John Danks, White Sox – Danks has the age, 27 in April, and the numbers and the Sox could be motivated to move him as he is set to...

Yankees prepare for the Rule Five Draft

Tomorrow is the deadline for teams to set their 40-man roster for this year’s Rule 5 Draft. According to RiverAveBlues, The deadline is usually sometime in the afternoon, 4-5pm ET, but that’s not terribly important. Anyone left unprotected in the Rule 5 Draft can be selected by another team, and if that player manages to stick on his new team’s big league roster all season...

Swisher loves life with Yanks

The Yankees picked up Nick Swisher’s option for next season, but there’s no guarantee the right fielder will remain in The Bronx — even though general manager Brian Cashman has said repeatedly he likes the team’s lineup. Swisher plans on being back with the Yankees for at least...

Yankees Notes: Swisher, DePaula, Cashman

It was on this day in 1954 that the Yankees and Orioles finalized a huge 17-player deal that took five days to fully process.  The most notable new Yankees were future Cy Young winner "Bullet" Bob Turley and Don Larsen, who achieved baseball immortality two years later when he threw the only perfect game in World Series history.  Some news from the modern-day Yankees...
