Niese to the Minors

As seen on NY Mets GlobalSNY is reporting that Jonathon Niese has been reassigned to the Mets’ minor league camp. Niese who has been in completion for the team’s last spot in the rotation has had a solid spring and will be in the Mets’ rotation sooner than later. With Niese out of the running, it confirms that Livan Hernandez will fill the last spot in the Mets rotation Also being sent to Minor league camp was catcher Robinson Cancel which is curious because of recent injury suffered by Mets started Brian Schneider. Schneider who has reportedly being sidelined for an indefinite period of time, it leaves Ramon Castro as the only catcher in camp.Although there has been limited information about Schneider’s injury, the move to send down Cancel means Schneider is expected back before the start of the season
