PLAYERS: Ryan Braun
TEAMS: Milwaukee Brewers

Tweet The hits just keep on coming for Ryan Braun, but not the kind he’s accustomed to. Per a report from ESPN’s Darren Rovell, Nike has ended their relationship with the Milwaukee Brewers slugger after MLB levied a 65-game suspension on Braun for PED use: KeJuan Wilkins, a spokesman for the world’s largest shoe and [...]

1 Comment:
  • He's only seen the tip of the iceberg so far. The cheating with Roids is bad enough, but people are fed up with grown men lying like 5 year olds with their hand caught in the cookie jar. That's why McWire, Sosa, Palmiero, Clemens, Bonds and now Braun will NEVER make the Hall.

The Five Silliest Reactions to Braun’s Suspension (And a Sensible One)

(Image: Jacquelyn Martin/AP) Now that it’s been over a week since Ryan Braun accepted a 65-game suspension for violating MLB’s drug policy and basic agreement, professional and amateur pundits have had plenty of opportunity to share their opinions.  Some of these reactions have been thoughtful and interesting.  Many more have been tedious.  Here are five examples of the...

Brewers Friday: Rickie Weeks-Scooter Gennett 'rivalry' renewed

MILWAUKEE -- Whether it was a coincidence or not, Rickie Weeks hit better when Scooter Gennett was up in the big leagues breathing down his neck. The notion Gennett was putting pressure on Weeks may be overblown, but Brewers manager Ron Roenicke starting the veteran second baseman when the match-up favored him certainly helped. With Weeks back in a slump and his batting average...

Brewers’ OF Ryan Braun Voted as one of ‘Most Untrustworthy Athletes’

Ryan Braun has hit rock bottom, at least as far as his reputation is concerned. A poll taken over the past couple of weeks reveals that the American population believes that the disgraced Milwaukee Brewers slugger is one of the least trustworthy athletes in Repucom’s Celebrity DBI database of 2,988 celebrities. The general population in the U.S. says only eight athletes are less...

Nike has cut ties with Ryan Braun in the wake of the 65-game suspension the Milwaukee Brewers outfielder is currently serving for his connection to the Biogenesis drug scandal. The 2011 National League MVP was suspended last week, but the announcement by Nike came Friday, according to ESPN’s Darren Rovell. Braun has endorsed Nike for his entire seven-year career, and the company...

Robin Yount hopes testing can eliminate PEDs from baseball

MILWAUKEE -- In town as the club honors the 20th anniversary of his retirement from baseball, Milwaukee Brewers legend and Baseball Hall of Famer Robin Yount spoke publicly Friday for the first time since Ryan Braun accepted a season-ending suspension for violating the Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment Program. While Yount wouldn't address Braun's case specifically because...

Brewers unlikely to make big moves before waiver deadline

All was quiet for the Milwaukee Brewers on Tuesday's non-waiver trade deadline, as the clubhouse remained intact After trading closer Francisco Rodriguez to Baltimore last week, the Brewers stood pat and didn't sell any of their assets as general manager Doug Melvin was underwhelmed with the offers he received. What comes next? The Brewers still can make trades in August...

Brewers struggling to score runs with depleted middle of the order

MILWAUKEE -- With who is missing from the lineup, the Milwaukee Brewers are going to have nights like this. Right now, Milwaukee's offense is ripe for a good pitcher to cruise through, and Dan Haren did just that. Haren tossed seven scoreless innings in Washington's 3-0 victory over the Brewers on Saturday night. The shutout loss snapped Milwaukee's 86-game streak without...

LHP Tom Gorzelanny day-to-day after taking a hit to left elbow

MILWAUKEE -- Already with two relievers and a pitcher who struggled mightily at Triple A in their rotation, the Milwaukee Brewers may have to find a way to fill another rotation spot. Left-hander Tom Gorzelanny left Friday's 4-1 loss to Washington in the top of the second inning after getting drilled in the left elbow by a line drive off the bat of Nationals right fielder Jayson...

Is Ryan Braun the Lance Armstrong of Baseball?

It has been just over one week since Major League Baseball and Milwaukee Brewers' star left fielder Ryan Braun came to an agreement that would see him suspended for the remainder of the 2013 season. This dated back to his positive test from October of 2011 and ended with the findings from the investigation of the now-defunct Biogenesis clinic. While most thought the case had...

Gorzelanny hit on wrist, leaves game

Milwaukee starter Tom Gorzelanny left Friday night's game against the Washington Nationals in the second inning with what the Brewers called a left elbow contusion. Jayson Werth led off the second with a sharp liner right back at Gorzelanny as the left-hander completed his follow-through. The ball appeared to strike Gorzelanny on the wrist and then rolled toward the third-base...

Milwaukee Brewers' left-handed pitcher Tom Gorzelanny had to exit last night's game against the Washington Nationals in the second inning after being hit by a line drive off the bat of Jayson Werth.
