More than often after a nice win like tonight’s 10-1 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays Tigers players would be more than happy to talk to the media. However Tuesday night was unlike most nights for shortstop Jhonny Peralta who could find himself embroiled in one of the larger PED scandals in Major League Baseball history.
In a report by ESPN’s Outside the Lines, Major League Baseball will look to suspend 20 players for their connection with a Biogenesis clinic in Southern Florida founded by Tony Bosch. Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez and Brewers outfielder Ryan Braun headline the list of players connected to the clinic however Peralta has also been linked to Bosch after his name was found in some of the clinic’s records.
After Tuesday night’s game Peralta and manager Jim Leyland had no comment on the matter.
Jhonny Peralta did make an appearance in the clubhouse a bit after the game. Said he had no comment.
