Sand Diego—Ricky Nolasco pitched 6 and 1/3 scoreless innings on his way to recording his seventh win of the season in a 5-0 victory over the San Diego Padres. Nolasco struck out 10 batters while only giving up three walks and two hits.
The Marlins offense came through with fvie runs off of Padres starter Josh Geer and the Padre bullpen.
Jeremy Hermida accounted for the first Marlins' run with a solo shot to right field in the top of the second. Dan Uggla drove in Hanley Ramirez from third with a sharp single to center during the top of the sixth inning.
To begin the bottom of the seventh, Nolasco walked Adrian Gonzalez. After striking out Kevin Kouzmanoff, he allowed a hit to Drew Macias and a walk to Kyle Blanks.
Brendan Donnelly was then called in from the bullpen to face Luis Rodriguez with the bases loaded. Rodriguez then subsequnetly popped out to Ramirez at short.
Donnelly then faced lefty Chase Headley who forced a 3-2 count before ...
