No American sports teams are as divisive as Notre Dame and the Yankees. Sure, the Lakers and Cowboys have their detractors, but no two teams know hatred quite like the Irish and Bronx Bombers. It's only fitting then, that the two evil empires join forces with Notre Dame talking to the Yankees about playing at New Yankee Stadium.

"We've been in contact with Yankee Stadium and asked and inquired," Notre Dame athletic director Jack Swarbrick told The New York Times. "We will be discussing games with them, but we haven't entered into any substantive discussions."
Ideally, Notre Dame is looking to play in Yankee Stadium in 2013 against Army in celebration of their 1913 meeting, which popularized the forward pass. While that game revolutionized the game, when you consider how horrible the two teams have been recently, putting them together in a situation that would surely peek national interest could set the game back 50 years.
But ultimately, there couldn't be a better pairing of teams that people love to hate than the Yankees and Notre Dame. The only thing that could somehow rate the pairing higher on the hate scale is if they could get Derek Jeter to forget his Michigan fandom for a day -- or if Jeff Samardzija gets traded to the Yankees. Either one would be enough to make Yankees/Irish megafan Regis Philbin pee his pants.
