OF Wise joins Blue Jays for 3rd time

DeWayne Wise has joined the Toronto Blue Jays for a third time. The club announced Friday it has claimed the veteran outfielder off waivers from the Florida Marlins. The 33-year-old appeared in 49 games with the Marlins this season, batting .239 with five RBIs in 67 at-bats. He appeared in 52 games with the Blue Jays last season, batting .250 with three home runs and 14 RBIs. A fifth-round pick by Cincinnati in 1997, Wise began his career with the Blue Jays in 2000 and has played for five teams over parts of nine seasons. Wise has a .223 career average with 20 home runs and 80 RBIs in 425 games.
