I’ve been getting this feeling that most MLB players are assholes of late. Here is Omar Vizquel doing his best impression of one over the weekend:

American is the worst ******* airline in the whole world

No ****. Next time I will RT @meganrad: @VizquelOmar13 Take a greyhound bus.

Omar Vizquel looks like a dickhead here. You really have to ***** about an airline on Twitter? Really? It’s not surprising on any level, though. First of all — air travel is difficult. I’ll give Omar that. Second of all, as I mentioned, a lot of ball players seem like dicks nowadays.

Vizquel’s probably pissed because his flight back home was delayed. The airline misplaced his luggage. Or maybe there was  baby seated near him. Stuff like this happens to all of us, though. Omar took to the internet, and his 80,000+ follows to voice his displeasure. Omar even had back-up from some ex-professional soccer player who joined in the trolling of the official American Airlines twitter account.

American Airlines has not publicly responded to Vizquel’s assholery. And good for them.

Living in Boston, I get to watch a group of assholes play right in my backyard. This week, I get a break from hearing about Red Sox games, the MLB All Star game is a tremendous reminder of why it’s hard to cheer for these guys.

Not only are MLB All Stars likely assholes, but they are also really good at their profession, too. A double whammy of unlikability.

If I was 10-years-old, maybe I’d be into this thing still. When I was a child, I looked forward the the All Star game, and of course the festivities around it. Chicks dig the long ball, I heard. That is far in the rearview now, though. After all I have learned about many of these guys, I no longer have the desire to tune in.

Omar Vizquel has made over $62M dollars from playing baseball in the MLB. This extremely mediocre player has been playing in the bigs for 24 seasons. Yes, he is STILL in the league. Somehow. Vizquel has only batted above .270 one time since the 2006 season.

Omar hasn’t let his games deterioration mellow his prick-like attitude. He’s an All Star no longer. However, his sense of entitlement seems on par with any 2012 American League All Star.

Think about this the next time you hear about a pro athletes thinking it’s pathetic when a lowly fan tweets negatively about them. Yeah, but **** that flight attendant making 60 grand on flight 298, huh!
