From the same source who reported on Christmas Eve that the Mets were close to a deal, is now reporting that Derek Lowe will meet with Braves officials today.According to a baseball source, Lowe is scheduled to meet with representatives of the Braves this afternoon in Atlanta. source Boston Globe I'm not surprised that this comes on the heels of yesterdays lunch for two reasons, the Boras camp needs to drum up interest in their client to get the Mets to increase their bid and Lowe's free agency is coming to a close. It's been reported in Atlanta that the Braves wouldn't be willing to outbid the Mets' initial offer, so unless they've had a drastic change of heart this is simply a meet and greet.
