At McCoy Stadium, the Buffalo Bisons (NYM) trounced the Pawtucket Red Sox, 10-3, in the third game of their three-game series this afternoon. Buffalo banged out 19 base hits in their triumph.
The Bisons jumped on Sox starter Adam Mills (0-2) for six runs in the first three innings. Reliever Chad Paronto surrendered four more runs in his two-inning effort. Four different players in the Buffalo lineup had at least 3 hits apiece, including 1B Mike Jacobs, who was making his first minor league appearance after being designated for assignment by the New York Mets. The first baseman, who has 100 career homers in the big leagues, hit one in his Bisons debut.
Buffalo lefty Pat Misch earned the win. He went seven innings and allowing three runs on six hits and a walk. LHP Adam Pettyjohn pitched two innings of shutout ball, allowing only one hit.
Angel Sanchez and Mark Wagner each had two hits for Pawtucket. Tug Hulett, Dusty Brown and Daniel Nava had the others.
