Pro Sports Daily:
Bud Norris has soreness in his right elbow and manager Buck Showalter isn’t sure when he’s going to pitch again.
Showalter has inserted Jason Hammel into the rotation to pitch on Friday in Toronto. Chris Tillman will follow and Miguel Gonzalez pitches on Sunday. After that he doesn’t know.
The Orioles have their final day off on Monday and Showalter could reinsert Norris in the rotation. He doesn’t expect Norris to try and throw until Sunday.
“At some point maybe it fits physically better for him in the pen I don’t know. I’m just leaving all avenues open” Showalter said. “The problem is you’ve got to shut him down.”
Norris described the injury on Wednesday night.
“A fatigue and tightness kind of thing. There was no specific day. Obviously getting to this point in the season we’re adding up and so forth. I definitely felt it in my last couple but I wanted to go out there and compete” Norris said.

He may have slowed down a little since the All-Star break, but I think it is safe to say that Baltimore Orioles first baseman Chris Davis is still having one heck of a season. Friday night he took a step towards making it a record breaking one.
When he was with the Texas Rangers the team thought he would be something special at the plate, but he simply...
Baltimore Orioles reliever Darren O'Day has been experiencing soreness and tingling in his fingers. It's never a good sign when a pitcher, or any player for that matter, has shooting pain, tingling, or soreness extending to the extremities. That's why the Orioles are trying to get a quick handle on what's going on. They have sent O'Day for tests in hopes...

On Tuesday night, Baltimore blew a 4-1 lead. The following night, the Orioles...
Outfield Gold Gloves are not given, but earned. Baltimore Orioles OF Adam Jones flashed some serious defensive moxy at Toronto Blue Jays SS speedster Jose Reyes by limiting him to a double. By limiting him to a double, I mean bare hand, off the wall, one hop, to Machado, tag down, you’re out. Sounds like a H-O-R-S-E shot. Watch it all unfold (courtesy of MLB.com):
A year ago, the Baltimore Orioles won nearly all the close games they played. This year, it's quite the opposite. The Orioles lost 6-5 last night after closer Jim Johnson's wild pitch allowed the go ahead runner to score in the top of the ninth inning.
It's hard to see the Orioles getting over the hump to claim a postseason spot at this point, but stranger things have...
The Orioles have 16 games left in the 2013 season. However, after what most of us saw this week with the resurgent New York Yankees taking three out of four from the Orioles, could it be over for them?
Despite a comeback by the Birds on Thursday, after their loss, I figure they will now have a proverbial hill – ok, mountain – to climb for the rest of the season. They could...
An untimely three-game losing streak has damaged the Baltimore Orioles' postseason hopes.
A 10-game road trip may just determine them.
The Orioles open that seemingly rough stretch by trying to end a four-game losing streak at Rogers Centre on Friday night, when they face the last-place Toronto Blue Jays.
Baltimore (77-69) won four of five after beating the New York Yankees...

There was a tempest in a teapot during Monday’s Yankees-Orioles game. Between innings, Joe Girardi screamed that Oriole third base coach Bobby Dickerson was stealing signs. Buck Showalter screamed back at Girardi so heatedly that umpires had to restrain him. Girardi claimed that Dickerson was stealing pitch signs from Yankee catcher Austin Romine, and signaling […]
