Bud Norris' first start for the Baltimore Orioles was a success as he knocked off his former team. His second comes against the San Diego Padres, who have played well of late but will now be without their lone All-Star. Norris takes the mound as Baltimore begins an eight-game trip Tuesday night in San Diego, which will be without Everth Cabrera. Cabrera was one of 13 players punished Monday for connection to the Biogenesis clinic and accepted a 50-game suspension. The 26-year-old shortstop, hitting .283 in 95 games for the Padres, ranks second in baseball with 37 steals and leads San Diego with 54 runs. The Padres (52-60) have won 10 of 15 but are 5-12 without Cabrera, who was 2 for 5 with two RBIs in Sunday's 6-3 home win over the New York Yankees.
