Baltimore Orioles shortstop J.J. Hardy recently had his name
tossed around in trade rumors, but manager Buck Showalter indicated to
reporters, including Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports, that the team isn’t
interested in dealing the veteran.
Asked Buck Showalter if #orioles would have to be overwhelmed by offer to trade J.J. Hardy. "What word is above "overwhelmed?"

It was reported that the Orioles, Chicago Cubs and Detroit
Tigers were discussing a three-team trade. Most of the negotiations went on
between the Cubs and Tigers, but Detroit wanted Hardy from Baltimore in order
to send Rick Porcello to the Cubs. It wasn’t clear what the Orioles would
receive in return at the time.
The Orioles acquired Hardy from the Minnesota Twins two
offseasons ago, and the veteran has become one of the team’s most productive
players both in the field and at the plate. In his two seasons with Baltimore,
Hardy has hit 57 doubles and 52 home runs while playing Gold Glove-caliber
defense at shortstop.
