Over the last 11 years, fans of the Baltimore Orioles have seen disappointing prospects, washed up retreads, and below average veterans take the mound. However, now, the O's have many young pitching prospects waiting in the wing. Since very few of them were expected to emerge this year, the O's 2009 season looked to be a very long one in Baltimore.
However, now, the O's have a rotation with the majority of it being rookies. Now with Chris Tillman in the majors, four of the five pitchers in the rotation are in their first year in the big leagues.
Obviously, rookies will struggle.
Sometimes, they just aren't ready for the highest level of baseball in the world. Understandable. Sometimes, nerves play a factor. They can't handle tons of viewers around the universe watching their every move. Also understandable. However, so far, rookies David Hernandez (pictured), Chris Tillman, and Brad Bergesen have shown that O's fans not only have reason for hope in the fut...
