Ozzie Guillen returned to the dugout on Tuesday as the Miami Marlins defeated the Chicago Cubs 5-2 at Marlins Park.  It was Guillen’s first game back after serving a team imposed five game suspension.   With the score knotted at two in the eighth, Hanley Ramirez hit a three run home run to give the Marlins a lead and help move them to 5-6 on the season.

After tweaking his delivery before this start, Josh Johnson appeared to be close to his old form going seven innings in which he allowed two runs on seven hits.  It was a welcome sight to see the Marlins’ ace in command and throwing in the mid 90s.    Johnson worked with pitching coach Randy St. Claire on correcting his delivery to better match up with the one he used in 2011.     Steve Cishek was credited with the win despite Johnson’s efforts as he was the pitcher of record when Ramirez came to the plate.   For Cishek, his exceptional season continued with a perfect inning as he continues to receive a heavy workload.    Perhaps the story of the night was in the ninth when closer Heath Bell nailed down his first save as a Marlin with a 1-2-3 inning.  Bell only needed eight pitches, and seven of them were strikes.

After collecting seven hits in two games including a game tying home run and game winning hit, Ramirez continued his hot week with the game winner in this one as well.  Overall the third baseman was on base twice as he walked earlier in the game as well.    Emilio Bonifacio’s fantastic season continued with a 2-2 day that saw him on base four times.    Bonifacio also swiped two bases to give him seven on the season.     Doubles were collected by Omar Infante, Gaby Sanchez and Giancarlo Stanton, the fourth of the season for each.

The Marlins will look to make it three wins on a row on Wednesday when they send Mark Buehrle to the mound.  The Cubs have Matt Garza scheduled to start.
