Official press release provided by the San Diego Padres media department: SAN DIEGO – The San Diego Padres announced today they have declined their mutual options for the 2012 season for right-handed pitcher Aaron Harang and infielder/outfielder Brad Hawpe, as well as their club option for next season for right-handed pitcher Chad Qualls. Executive Vice President/General Manager Josh Byrnes made the announcements. Harang, 33, made 28 starts for the Padres in 2011, going 14-7 with a career-best 3.64 ERA (69 ER/170.2 IP) and 124 strikeouts against 58 walks.  The right-hander had one stint on the disabled list, missing time from June 13 to July 8 with a right foot contusion.  In 17 starts at Petco Park this past season, he was 8-5 with a 3.05 ERA (37 ER/109.1 IP) and 72 strikeouts against 35 walks with the Padres 9-8 in his starts at home.
