Remember when Facebook first opened itself up to users other than just college kids and it exploded into this phenomenal thing even though college kids had known about it for years?  That’s what happened with Adrian Gonzalez’s arrival to Boston this year.  Hell of a comparison, I know.  Gonzalez is being thrown around in circles as arguably the best first baseman in the league because of what he’s done so far in Boston this year.  Padres fans already knew this, the rest of the baseball world chose to ignore it.  If you ever want to see massive contrast in media markets, look at the way All-Star fan voting has gone for Adrian this year compared to years past.  As of right now Adrian is leading the world in All Star votes and is a virtual lock to start at first base until his contract in Boston expires.  In San Diego, Adrian couldn’t buy a vote.  There was no way he’d vault Pujols for the top spot, and he was stuck ...
