The biggest name likely to switch teams in the next few months will be Padres ace Jake Peavy. Most people believe the Phillies clearly aren't in the running due to his giant salary. But it's still fun to think about, yes? His agent recently talked about Jake and Philadelphia.
Zolecki at MLB.com reports that Peavy's agent says he has not discussed the possibility of playing in Philadelphia with Jake for the simple fact nobody has asked him about Philadelphia.
But it fits some of his general criteria.
"He has a strong preference to play in the National League," he said. "He also wants to play for a contender. Both of those two things play into Philly's hands. ... The personnel is awesome. If there is one downside, it's the geographical difference for him, given that he has made his family home in the San Diego area."If the Phillies keep selling out every single game, maybe there's a chance?
