Brett Myers is in the last year of his contract with the Philadelphia Phillies. While he has stated that he wishes to return, he may have pitched his last game in red pinstripes. Myers MRI and first opinion from a doctor showed fraying and perhaps tearing of his labrum. Myers said, "It sounds like surgery is almost 100% from the first opinion."
Surgery could very well end his season and one has to wonder if the Phillies would resign the enigmatic right hander. A better scenario would be a second opinion that did not require surgerya, but the chances of that seem slim.
The Phillies will now try to decide how best to fill the hole Myers has left in the rotation. Would 50,000 cards from fans to Jake Peavy work to get him to waive his no trade clause and come to Philly? Its worth a try!
For Brett Myers, this could mean goodbye. Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry
