Brett Myers got his second opinion today. It was the same as the first. He needs surgery. Brett had said if there was no chance for further damage he would try to pitch but that is not the case either. With that in mind, Myers will have the hip surgery and may very well miss the rest of the season.
Trade rumors and speculation to replace Myers is in full swing. Phightin' Phils Phorum will keep you up to date on the credible rumors. So far possible replacements named have been Jake Peavy (fairly long shot), Roy Oswalt, Roy Halliday, and God help us, Pedro Martinez. It will be interesting to see how Ruben Amaro does with his first in season roster crisis!
