Since his incredible month of April, Placido Polanco has done nothing but battle injuries and as a result, watch his production slip. He dealt with a hurt back for several months before a DL stint sidelined him, then word surfaced a few days ago that Polanco may wind up on the DL due to a hip injury.
Polanco actually has a sports hernia, but he says he is determined to play through it. Polanco will receive an injection Tuesday and will be examined Friday to see if he can play through it.
Polanco is hitting just .275 on the season right now.
