The guys on WIP are right, the Phillies are getting hard to watch.
After going ahead early, 1-0 in the second on Hector Luna’s ground rule double, the Phillies did not score again until Eric Kratz got a solo home run in eighth inning.
It was a 5-2 Phillies’ loss.
Roy Halladay gave up home runs to Ian Desmond and Rick Ankiel.
Halladay gave up nine hits, five earned runs, one walk and six strikeouts.
Desmond hits his home run in the top of the 3rd, Ankiel in the top of the 4th.
Phillies might not have even scored in the bottom of the second. Hunter Pence singled and advanced on Carlos Ruiz’s ground out.
Pence scored on Hector Luna’s ground rule double. If Pence had not advanced to second on the ground out, the Phillies would not have scored on Luna’s ground rule double.
If it wasn’t bad enough watching the Phillies pathetic offense, their best offensive player, Carlos Ruiz, got thrown out for arguing a call in the bottom of the third.
