The Philadelphia Phillies are no longer on the list for free agent outfielder Josh Hamilton. Josh Hamilton
It is not known who is interested in Hamilton at this time. Apparently, his agent, Michael Moye, has a policy, where he will not discuss negotiations about his client with the media.
The Baltimore Orioles, Seattle Mariners, Milwaukee Brewers, Boston Red Sox, Atlanta Braves, and the Texas Rangers have been linked to Hamilton. Many teams have downplayed their interest in Hamilton.
“I don’t know that yet,” he said. “We haven’t been given a real budget. I know it’s not unlimited, but that’s not usually how we work. There are limitations, but each situation is unique, in and of itself. We didn’t budget for Cliff Lee. But we signed Cliff Lee. We haven’t budgeted for a bunch of things we’ve done. Each situation is different.”
Hamilton made $13.75 million this past season. He has played the last six seasons with the Rangers after making the majors in 2007 with the Cincinnati Reds.
Last season, he played in 148 games and had a .285 batting average. He also had a career-high 43 home runs and a 128 RBI’s.
