700 Level:
Apologies for the lack of a proper game thread here tonight, it's a busy day for the Levelers. It's also been a busy day for the Flyers, as Marty's post below will show, but things have slowed down on the free agency front in time for some mid-season baseball.
The big talk in Phillies camp is that Rodrigo Lopez will start this Friday against the Mets—not Drew Carpenter, not Carlos Carrasco. More on Lopez before Mets series kicks off. Until then, we have Mr. Cole Hamels ready to go tonight, facing Jar Jar Jurrjens. The 23-year-old has been impressive for the Braves this year, maintaining a sub-3 ERA despite losing six decisions versus only five wins. Jurrjens threw 5.2 shutout innings the last time he faced the Phillies, which was that debacle of an opening series in Philadelphia.Jimmy's back at leadoff tonight. What's the over/under on hits for J-Roll? Does he break out of the slump? A city's patience wears thin.
