Congratulations to the reigning champion Philadelphia Phillies, who officially punched their ticket to a second straight World Series after winning the National League pennant with a 10-4 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers Wednesday night.
Five pitchers followed a shaky Cole Hamels for 4.2 impressive innings of relief, with Chad Durbin earning the win by retiring all four batters he faced.
Jayson Werth hit two bombs while Shane Victorino and Pedro Feliz also connected for homers, helping the Phillies become the first team since the 2000-2001 New York Yankees to reach two consecutive World Series.
Speaking of the Yanks, right-hander A.J. Burnett, who is 0-0 with a 2.19 postseason ERA, will take the hill for the Bombers in Game 5 of the ALCS tonight against John Lackey (1-1, 1.38 ERA) at 7:57pm ET in Anaheim.
