Aaron Rowand was recently designated for assignment by the San Francisco Giants. There are rumors that the Phillies may be interested in him.
There are a lot of insinuations being made that the Philadelphia Phillies may be interested in their old outfielder Aaron Rowand.
Rowand was designated for assignment earlier this week by the San Francisco Giants. The Giants will need to make a decision on Rowand in the next week. The choices are to either trade him or designate him to their minor league affiliate, or give him his unconditional release.
Aaron Rowand originally came to Philadelphia in November 2005 along with Gio Gonzalez in the Jim Thome trade from the Chicago White Sox. Rowand made an impact, and is famous for his all out sprint into the right centerfield wall at Citizens Bank Park in order to prevent three runs from scoring. Rowand face planted into the wall, but held onto the ball in a quintessential Phily moment.
