Moss will join the Phillies in Spring Training in 2011.

The Philadelphia Phillies have announced 12 Spring Training invitees, according to Todd Zolecki of MLB.com.  Two of those players are former Pittsburgh Pirates players Erik Kratz and Brandon Moss.  We learned last week that Kratz was added by the Phillies, but this is the first we've heard about Moss.

Moss was added by the Pirates in the Jason Bay trade.  After a poor season in 2009, he was outrighted off the 40-man roster in Spring Training, prior to the 2010 season.  Moss was the MVP of the 2010 Indianapolis Indians, putting up a .266/.330/.470 line with 22 homers in 500 at-bats.  That included a .291/.342/.538 line with 11 homers in 199 at-bats after the All-Star break.  Moss was added to the 40-man roster as a September call-up, but only received 26 at-bats, with a .154/.185/.192 line.  He declared for minor league free agency after being outrighted off of the 40-man roster for the second time in his career last month.
