Photo: Philliedelphia/Kevin Durso It's not uncommon that you hear of other players speaking about their teammates after being traded. What is uncommon is hearing other players speaking about their teammates before being traded. According to Todd Zolecki, a few players who spoke to reporters yesterday mentioned the recent rumors of their teammate Cole Hamels being potentially traded. “I don’t necessarily know if our clubhouse would take that too well." said Phils closer Jonathan Papelbon. Papelbon, who is coming from a clubhouse full of bad chemistry, fried chicken, beer and video games certainly wouldn't want to see one of the longest tenured Phillie to leave and ruin the chemistry of the clubhouse.  Papelbon's comments reflected those of Jimmy Rollins, who was interviewed via telephone on Sunday. “If guys are going to get traded, it has nothing to do with contracts,” Rollins said. “That means that was their plan from the beginning. You just don’t trade a guy ...

Cole Hamels of the Philadelphia Phillies. Photo Courtesy of Renee Cendrowski. Moving Cole Hamels Could Save the Phillies Next Season

The end his here. If we the Phillies fans want to admit it or not, the chances of our beloved team getting into the playoffs would take a miracle. Can The Dodgers Bring Cole Hamels Home?

Yesterday, I mentioned a report by Jon Heyman, of the Dodgers being interested in Shane Victorino. This rumor was quickly debunked by Dylan Hernandez, so I don't think there is much to worry about here. Obviously it makes sense for the Dodgers to take a look at every opportunity that could help the team. I have already said multiple times, an outfielder could definitely...

What Greinke or Hamels Would Yield in a Trade

With the Milwaukee Brewers and Philadelphia Phillies 6.0 and 10.0 games out, respectively, of the second wild-card spot in the National League, it’s probable that one or both teams will trade their front-line, free-agent-to-be starters — i.e. Zack Greinke and Cole Hamels — before the July 31st trade deadline. “What might either be worth in terms of a trade?” is a question...

Who’s to Blame for Phillies’ Disaster?

The first half is over. Thankfully. The Phillies have had their worst start since 1997 and nothing this season has really gone to plan. The questions of why have been asked now for 3 months. They’re only intensifying now, after a 9-25 performance in the last 34 games. Who is to blame? Charlie Manuel? Ruben Amaro? Injuries? The players? Frankly, I think there’s...
