Manuel The Phillies have returned home to begin a home stand and changes will greet the fans, lineup changes. The most notable and overdue, Jimmy Rollins will return to the leadoff spot and Ben Revere will be batting seventh. Overdue as the Phillies have been in need of a spark all of this early season and Rollins is that guy! (or so I believe) Not that Rollins is known for walking often but he should be a big upgrade over Revere who is batting under .200 and has walked 4 times this season. Phillippe Aumont> The rain suspended game against the Reds and Charlie Manuel’s decision to start the ninth with him. Aumont who faced four batters and was a victim of a Ben Revere error was tagged with the loss. The pressing question is why did Manuel not pitch Paplebon in the ninth? The game was tied at zero but who would have given the Phillies the best chance to win? Manuel who was criticised last season for using Papelbon more-than one inning certainly ignored that criticism in the past. If not Papelbon then who? Maybe Lee? The above was talk among myself and a few friends. We all agreed that the Phillies need to get it started sooner than later and that Charlie Manuel’s days may be numbered. Manuel needs to get this team going. The Braves off to their best start since the late 90′s have just 2 losses this season. The Phillies can ill afford to continue to not hit and Manuel cannot afford to make questionable moves.    Similar Posts: So as Jimmy Rollins goes will the Phillies go Phillies waste Lee’s effort, lose to Reds Phillies start road trip with win in ten innings Let the season begin, Phillies opening day hope Staff Ace Cliff Lee shuts down Mets
