MLB Injury News:
It was thought that a deal involving Cliff Lee would be unlikely. The Phillies are now asking for two top prospects and for teams to take on Cliff Lee's entire contract in a deal.
It isn't known what teams are all interested in Cliff Lee, but we do know that the Red Sox and Cardinals are interested. A recent report from Andy Martino of the New York Daily News says that a deal could happen, but maybe not with these teams:
Whether Cliff Lee gets traded or not, we'll see by tomorrow. But man, strong expectation among plugged-in rival execs he will go. #Phillies

The Red Sox, as of last night were talking to the Phillies about Cliff Lee, according to Jon Morosi of Fox Sports:
Sources: Red Sox remain engaged in talks for multiple pitchers, including Cliff Lee and Jake Peavy.

The Red Sox have a lot to offer, but the most well known name that could head to the Phillies in a deal is Xander Bogaerts. He is the No. 6 rated prospect in all of baseball and will not be given up by the Red Sox unless they land a big fish like Cliff Lee or Giancarlo Stanton. The one obstacle in a potential deal for Cliff Lee is that the Red Sox are on Lee's 20-team no-trade clause. It isn't known if Lee would drop it or not in a deal to Boston, but it's something to monitor.
The Cardinals are talking to the Phillies about Lee, but it isn't known whether they have a lot of interest in him. The Cardinals do like Cliff Lee and a deal to St. Louis wouldn't have any obstacles if a deal is agreed to, as the Cardinals are not on Lee's 20-team no-trade list.
A deal for Lee is looking more and more likely. The price for Lee is very high, but teams covet a dominant left-handed pitcher who can get both left and right-handed hitters out with ease. On the year, Lee is 10-4 with a 3.05 ERA and a 131/22 strikeout-to-walk ratio. If Cliff Lee does in fact get traded, he will likely be the best pitcher traded since...Cliff Lee. More teams could hop into the race for Lee, so this is definitely a situation worth monitoring.

Should it take an earth-shattering package for the Phils to move Lee? (PHOTO: AP)
As the clock creeps towards today’s 4pm trade deadline, die-hard Phillies fans are sure to be glued to their rumors source of choice. Last night’s report that Jake Peavy is headed to Boston put a sizable dent in the Phillies chances of moving Cliff Lee, leaving only the Tigers, Cardinals and...
Cliff Lee's name is "definitely out" there in trade talks and the free-falling Phillies appear to at least be considering trading one of their aces.
However the price tag on the veteran lefthander is exteremely high leading some to speculate that ulatimately the Phillies may still still hold onto him.
"He's telling people it'll take you three or four...
The Red Sox are reportedly looking to add a starting pitcher before Wednesday’s MLB trade deadline passes, and one of the names that they’re supposedly interested in is Phillies left-hander Cliff Lee. And while the Phils are open to parting ways with Lee, a former Cy Young winner, they’re reportedly not willing to do so without receiving a valuable young piece in return.
Now that Jake Peavy and Matt Garza have found new homes, Philadelphia Phillies left-hander Cliff Lee is far-and-away the top starting pitcher remaining on the trade market. However, it sounds like Lee may not be going anywhere, as Jim Bowden of ESPN reports that the southpaw is not going to be traded today.
Cliff Lee is not getting traded today according to #source
The Phillies will not give Cliff Lee away for some peanuts and a sack of potatoes. But I thought you knew that already. As we have seen Lee go from untouchable to maybe-touchable, one thing remains: Lee is a top pitcher. What else would you expect? CBS's Jon Heyman wrote...
The Red Sox should trade their top prospect, infielder Xander Bogaerts, to get Phillies left-hander Cliff Lee.
Trust me, Red Sox Nation wouldn't crumble.
Trading a can't-miss youngster for a starting pitcher who might help you win a World Series is hardly a radical concept, and the Red Sox know it.
Heck, they did it on Nov. 24, 2005, including two future stars, shortstop...

ST. LOUIS -- So the Cardinals didn't make a significant trade before the deadline for the first time since 2008.
I say good for them.
As sharp as Cliff Lee would look wearing the Birds on the Bat, the Cardinals never were close to a deal, according to a Phillies source.
If the Cardinals weren't going to mortgage a big chunk of their future on Lee, no other available...
Wikipedia.com The Phillies very well could trade Cliff Lee to the Boston Red Sox. The deal sounds like it hinges on whether or not the Red Sox are willing to trade their top prospect, Xander Bogaerts . John Tomase of the Boston Herald reports that it's Bogarts or no deal:...
It appears that Cliff Lee lacks teams that can take his money and afford the prospect price. Papelbon appears to lack suitors, in part thanks to his contract, but also his big mouth. Michael Young is throwing around his no-trade clause weight to direct his market to a select few...
CSN Chicago is reporting that Jake Peavy was pulled from his start tonight with the Chicago White Sox. It doesn't necessarily mean that he is coming to Boston, but we can't rule that out yet.
Also, the Sox are still the biggest player in the Cliff Lee sweepstakes. We already know Bogaerts won't be dealt and no other names have been thrown out in the talks.
24 hours remain for teams to sell, buy and trade their players in an effort to either clear house or improve their roster for a play off run. The Phillies are definite sellers this July 31st, but so far have not made a fire sale. Unlike last year when the...
Whether you like it or not, Michael Young is the most likely Phillie to be traded before tomorrow's 4 PM ET. deadline. Young, who has been rumored to be involved in a trade that could potentially send himself and teammate Cliff Lee to the Boston Red Sox in return for...
At 2:57 on a sunny Tuesday afternoon Michael Young was still a Phillie. He leaned over the dugout railing at an empty ballpark and stared at the field while grounds-crew members manicured the grass. He later practiced ground balls with Cody Asche a man 13 years younger who will steal most of his playing time if Young remains a Phillie.
Young controls his destiny. It is his contractual...
As the rumors fly on Twitter, the Phillies remain whole…for now. They snapped an 8-game losing streak, defeating the San Francisco Giants, 7-3. The game was secondary to everything else surrounding the club.
Michael Young, who homered in what could be his final game in a short stint with the Phillies, said he has no idea if anything will happen as the trade deadline strikes at...
