Eli's MLB Rumors:
The Delaware News Journal is reporting that the Phillies are still interested in Nomar Garciaparra. Garciaparra, who hit .264 in 55 games for the Dodgers last season, has still not decided on whether to play or not. He has battled injuries for the past several seasons, which has lead him to being relegated to a bench role, despite a .314 career batting average. The Phillies would like to add Garciaparra so they have more depth in the infield, as well as a right handed bat off the bench. There isn't much interest in Garciaparra around league, so if he decides to play in 2009, it will probably be with the Phillies.
