MVN:
Jayson Stark of ESPN.com reports that free agent pitcher Pedro Martinez is on the watch from the Phillies. I agree with Macho-Row, he'll fit well. I also agree that he'll probably be at the fourth spot in the starting pitching rotation.
The Phils have also been very weak this year in pitching as their rotation is one of the worst in the league. Hopefully, Martinez can bring some light towards the squad of the red.
The 37-year-old is scheduled to take a physical on Tuesday, ESPN says. Philly has already seen him throw twice, and they look to see him do so again as this may be his only chance to sign with a team this year.
I have seen Martinez on the radar with Phillies for much of this season, so I have no doubts of the Phils taking him.
It's reported that both sides are looking into a one-year $4M to $5M deal. It's going good for Pedro, and the Phillies are definitely voting for him, no doubt about that. We'll see how things turn out when time flies by.
