Great news, Phils fans. It's that magic day in the rotation when Cole Hamels gets his start. Aside from Brett Myers' injury, the rotation has been showing signs of improvement from top to bottom. Still, nothing's better than asking yourself who's starting tonight and realizing it's Hamels.

Phillies PreviewRarely does Cole leave us in a bad position to win, and he's been looking dominant again lately. Since his two "warmup" starts, Cole hasn't given up more than three earned runs in any appearance, and he's only let up three once over that time. And now, Volume 789 of Win-Loss Records Are the Worst Statistical Indicator of a Pitcher's Value, But for Some Reason, We Still Focus on Them. Hamels sits at just 2-2, whereas his opponent for the night, Shairon Martis is rocking a 5-0 record. In their last 12 innings each, Hamels has given up five runs, versus Martis' 10 ER. The Phils can hang another five on him, and they should start evening out that home record with a W tonight.
Nationals PreviewThe Nats suck. I'm late for a party.
Enjoy the game.
