Fox Sports Arizona:
The newest entry into Phoenixs professional sports franchise market is Phoenix FC, an expansion franchise in USL PRO men's soccer league.
Phoenix FC will begin play in April 2013 at a site to be determined. The roster will include international layers as well as talent from the national and local level. The team will hold several tryouts in the Phoenix area, beginning on Sept. 21 at the Reach 11 Sports Complex, 2425 E. Deer Valley Road, from 5 to 9 p.m..
David Robertson, who had a successful professional career in the Scottish League before retiring in 2002, will be the team's head coach. Rui Filipe Bento is its managing director.
I am very excited and proud to lead Arizonas newest professional sports team, said Robertson. Soccer has a fantastic following through the Southwest, and Phoenix sports fans are some of the best supporters of professional teams that I have ever experienced. Phoenix FC will be a great addition to this community, and we welcome all fans of soccer to be a part of the team from day one.
The Phoenix FC team will be known as the Wolves, with the logo featuring an image of the Mexican wolf. The season will begin in April and run through August. More information can be found at www.PhoenixFC.com.

One of the strangest elements of the last week has been the revelation that Baltimore is a homer-happy team that wins by the bash instead of the bunt. I thought we were the only team that did this, and thus were the only team to be doomed in October, when quality pitching rules. Watching the O's clobber the unfortunately high-socked David Robertson Friday was like watching the...

David Phelps should no longer be in the starting rotation anymore and he needs to be moved into the bullpen. He went 4 innings, allowed 6 runs, walked 2, gave up 2 HR's and struck out 3 batters...
