The Double-A affiliate in the Arizona Diamondbacks organization have adopted an idea to honor American soldiers who served our great country, but were never able to make it back home. The Mobile BayBears have created a specially designed seat to place in their stadium in which will sit empty on a permanent basis to honor the fallen troops."This is a very special announcement for a number of reasons, first and foremost we wanted to find a way in our ballpark to permanently recognize the sacrifices of those who protect our freedom. There is a strong military influence in this region and that made finding the right way to show our respect very important to our staff. The seat in section 107, row 1, seat 1, is now a tribute seat that will never be sat in, but it will never be empty," BayBears general manager Heath Bennett said in a statement. The seat, pictured above, is painted all black, with a logo of an anonymous person emblazoned in the middle, with words surrounding it which include "YOU ARE NOT FORGOTTEN."Mobile will officially unveil the seat during their home opener on April 10.The BayBears will also partner with sponsor Navy Federal Credit Union to provide complimentary tickets to all active, reserve, or retired military personnel throughout the 2013 season.Fantastic move by the BayBears, indeed.Via CBS Sports
