On the list of people who hold grudges against Roger Clemens, former Mets catcher Mike Piazza has some pretty legitimate reasons to be near the top. After being struck in the head by the Yankees pitcher back in 2000, Piazza finally decided to prepare a way to get even with Clemens. In his autobiography, Long Shot, Piazza details how he began taking karate lessons and mapping out his strategy for fighting Clemens the next time the two crossed paths. "I would approach with my fist pulled back," Piazza writes in an excerpt published by the New York Post. "I figured he'd throw his glove out for protection. I'd parry the glove and then get after it." However, Piazza and Clemens never fought -- despite the infamous bat-throwing incident that took place between the two in the 2000 World Series. The reason for that, as Piazza explains it, is that he was worried about getting beat up. "There were complications," Piazza explains. "The least of th...

In his autobiography, Long Shot, Piazza details how he began taking karate lessons and mapping out...

Mike Piazza Denies Using Steroids in Autobiography, But Admits Using Andro, Amphetamines

Either Mike Piazza doesn’t want to sell books, or he really didn’t use steroids. The former catcher denies using steroids in his yet-to-be-released autobiography “Long Shot,” according to the New York Times. Piazza was denied entry into the Baseball Hall of Fame this year. He is well regarded as one of the best hitting catchers in the history of baseball. Piazza received...

Will Mike Piazza’s Admissions Still Wind Up Hurting Hall Of Fame Chances?

I am so excited to receive my copy of Mike Piazza’s autobiography, Long Shot, which I pre-ordered several weeks ago. But of course, I can’t control myself in reading all the news stories about what is actually in the book before I read it for myself. So that leads me to a very intriguing discussion. Piazza admitted in his book to using androstenedione and Ephedra before the substances...

Mike Piazza Says ‘If I Was Gay, I’d Be Gay All The Way’ In New Memoir

Rotoexperts.com Rumors have always haunted Mike Piazza. The former major league star finally addresses some of them in “Long Shot,” a memoir due out soon. The New York Post has excerpts. Arguably the greatest offensive catcher in baseball history, Piazza still wasn’t a first ballot Hall of Fame choice in January — his first year of eligibility. Why? Persistent rumors that...

What I Make Of Piazza Admission

I concede disappointment in Mike Piazza’s admission in his autobiography he took androstenedione, but only because it further lends to speculation he might have used PEDs. From andro to steroids is the logical, but unsubstantiated conclusion. Once again, Piazza denied using steroids, but this certainly won’t enhance his Hall of Fame chances. Piazza received over 50 percent of...
