Last night I uploaded a new mobile theme to the site. The theme can be accessed simply by going to piratesprospects.com in your mobile browser. With all of the content that goes up on the site each day covering all levels of the system, the new theme should help make things easier to navigate. A screenshot of the theme is below, followed by some guides on how to use the theme for easy navigation. Of course if you’re reading this on your phone, you probably already have some idea of how to navigate the new theme. But there might still be some useful tips. Logo - Click the logo at any time to return to the main page. Menu - Click this for a drop down menu of all of the most-used site categories. This will allow you to find all of the posts under each category. Search - The search button in the middle will help you search for any specific topic you are looking for. Teams - If you’re looking for news on a specific team in the minor league system, you can find it here. Sliding Categories - Below the Menu/Search/Teams buttons are site categories (Pictured as “News and Analysis”, “Prospect Watch”, and “Transactions”. Swipe your finger from right to left to get more categories. Featured Articles - The big pictures at the top of the home page are the featured articles. Swipe from right to left to move to the next article. Load More Entries - To keep the load time down, we only display the most recent five articles on the main page. However, there is a “Load More Entries…” button under those articles that will allow you to go nuts reading beyond that. Social Networks - At the bottom of each page you will find buttons that will navigate you to how to follow the site on Facebook, Twitter, and RSS. Sharing - Under each article you will find links to share on Facebook, Twitter, Google +, E-Mail, and various other outlets. We always appreciate when you share our articles with others. Comments - The comment section of the site can be accessed through the mobile theme. I actually like the mobile comments better, mostly because you don’t run out of room after 4-5 replies in a conversation. I’ll be looking for a way to make this happen on the main part of the site. If anyone has any functional issues with the theme, let me know.
