When the Brewers and Diamondbacks get together it's becoming commonplace to expect a competitive and close game, but this one was a bit ridiculous as they managed a 0-0 tie in front of a Salt River Fields record setting crowd of 12,579 fans.

While listening to the game it was clear there were plenty of Brewers fans in attendance and I dare say they may have outnumbered, or at the least were more vocal than, the Dbacks fans in attendance.   All of that didn't matter much as the two teams threw out what was as close as possible to their opening day rosters including a nice pitching matchup of Yovanni Gallardo and Daniel Hudson.

It was the 2nd tie of Spring Training for both teams and the record for the Brewers now stands at 7-10-2.  On a side note, seriously, what is it with Milwaukee and ties?  Baseball doesn't have ties, come on man!!

Even though there wasn't much in the way of action I can tell you from a first hand report from a close friend and TheBrewersBar regular reader - Kara, it was an exciting game and she provided us with some photos, one of which is below:

Also, you'll want to check out our Facebook page this weekend as she's been gracious enough to allow us to use her pics and report from Maryvale Baseball Park on both Friday and Saturday!!  So if you want to see what the action was like you'll only find that there!  But back to the game at hand, here are the highlights:

-  Gallardo wasn't amazing, but he pitched the longest of his Spring Training outings at 4.2 innings and allowed 7 hits and just 1 walk while striking out 3 Dbacks.  He managed to pitch his way out of an early jam where runners were on the corners with just one out and did the necessary work to make it unscathed.

- The bullpen combo of Dillard, Veras, Braddock, and McClendon pitched the final 4.1 innings and only gave up 2 runs (1 for Dillard and Veras a piece) and really dominated the Arizona hitters, striking out 3 while only allowing 2 walks.

- On a day where hitting was scarce for the Brewers (only 5 hits) Nyjer Morgan had a good game going 2-for-3.  One of those was his 4th double of the Spring that nearly got the Brewers on the board after a double play put him on 3rd with Gamel up at the plate, but he couldn't get the job done to plate Morgan.

- Even though he's not a Brewer I have to tip my cap to Arizona starter Daniel Hudson.  He looked in mid-season form - throwing 5 innings of 2 hit, 1 walk baseball while also striking out 4 Brewer batters.
