The 2012 Houston Astros were unwatchable at times.  Their ensemble of utterly boring players with less talent than their fellow major leaguers and the fact that they played their games in the most boring division in baseball combined in boredom heaven.  Watching the 2012 Astros was like sitting through an hour of Intro to Women’s Studies at Vassar College.  I’m qualified make that joke because I’m probably the only person to have accomplished both horrific feats and lived to discuss it.  Still, something inside me thinks that there’s some way this new Astros team invigorated by new uniforms and a new division could capture some fairy dust and pull together a respectable season. Before you dismiss this blog and our site entirely, hear me out. How many proponants did the Oakland A’s have heading into last year? Who believed in the Orioles?  Hint: not us.  The point of bringing up those two fairy tale seasons that left their respective fan bases rejuvenated and surely spiked interest i...

Houston Astros: 3 up and 3 Down

The Houston Astros knew that 2012 would be a rebuilding season, but, even knowing that, it was a disappointing season for Astros fans.  The team changed managers mid-season firing Brad Mills and bringing in Tony DeFrancesco on their way to a last place 55-107 finish, 42 games behind the division winning Cincinnati Reds.  With a loss on the final day of the season, the Astros finished...

2013 Houston Astros Team Preview

The Houston Astro embark on a new journey in the AL.  Many years ago (not that many, but more than some) the Milwaukee Brewers left the AL Central and ventured into the NL Central giving the NL 16 teams to the AL’s 14.  In order to rectify this great inequity, the Astros are being moved to the AL.  It’s not too tragic.  They were an expansion team, have never won the World...

The Astros celebrated a walkoff win against a pitching machine

During an intrasquad scrimmage on Thursday, Astros non-roster invitee Brandon Laird hit a single up the middle to give his team the win in the game. Laird and the rest of his team. That's all well and good, but it's not as if Laird got his game-winning hit against an established major league pitcher, or a top prospect on the rise. No, Laird (and for that matter, the rest...

Alicia Keys Makes Houston Astros Batting Practice Song Request Sheet

Shall we take a look at the lyrics to this song that’ll make you want to cry and think of road beef in Arizona?...
